Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD DENNIS GUREVICH September 30, 1946 - January 11, 2018 After a dignified and private 18-year battle with lymphoma, it is with profound sadness that we announce Richard Gurevich is finally at peace. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Bonita (nee Sweiden); and by his wonderful children Rhonna and Michael. Richard had a multifaceted professional life, first in his electronics engineering consulting practice, then later as a small business owner. Through his unassuming leadership, he left a lasting and profound impact on everyone he worked with. In business, he prioritized helping those around him improve their lives, from providing work opportunities to immigrant refugees to helping his employees advance their careers. Richard was never satisfied sitting still, and led an incredibly active life outside work. He could be found riding his prized motorcycle, hang gliding, water skiing, scuba diving with his children, travelling the world off the beaten path, or off on some other adventure. During retirement, Richard created a new life for himself and Bonnie in both Marco Island (Florida) and North Vancouver. He became an avid golfer and badminton player, through which he easily formed many friendships with a diverse group of characters. Richard was a rare person who always took the time to get to know and understand people and their life stories, especially when they were different from his own. Always an independent thinker and never one to follow the crowd, at the end of his life he was happy to say "I did it my way". We would like to thank all the staff at the Lions Gate Hospital Chemotherapy Clinic and Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care. Services were held Sunday, January 14 at the Congregation Har El Synagogue in West Vancouver.
