Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN JOSEPHINE EDGE (SMITH) January 6, 1923 January 9, 2018 Eileen was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. She worked at Great West Coal in Brandon, and Kraft Foods in Edmonton, before getting married in Brandon and starting a family. The growing family moved to Winnipeg in 1955. Eileen was pre-deceased by her parents, Myra and Bill Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Charles Barnfather; sister-in-law Ferne Smith; nephew, Jimmy Smith; son-in-law Frank McKinnon; son-in-law Dan Donaldson; husband, Jack Edge, and brother-in-law, Bill Edge. She is survived by her brother Norm, sister-in-law, Anne Edge, daughters Cathy and Nancy, granddaughters Allison and Kelly (Bryan), and nephews Bill (Wenda), Doug (Carol), Rob (Stephen) and Tom (Lori). Eileen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, with a wonderful sense of humour. Her gentle, thoughtful nature was a source of strength and comfort to her family and friends. She always had a good word to say, and was kind and accepting of everyone. Eileen loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the Brandon trio, Three Shades of Blue, and sang in Winnipeg's Christ Church Anglican choir for many years. She was a long time member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW), and the River Heights Ladies Bowling League. Eileen liked to spend time at the cottage at Lake St. George, Manitoba entertaining family and friends. Eileen will also be missed by her friends and staff at her final home at The Parkway Retirement Community.
