GEORGINA IRENE BIRDWISE It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Georgina Irene Birdwise on Friday, January 19, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Charles (Chuck) Birdwise and together, they celebrated Georgie's 90th birthday on June 13, 2017 and their 70th Wedding Anniversary on June 14, 2017. Georgie is survived by her daughters, Susan (Ron McFadyen) and Cindy (Gerry Lecocq); son Doug Birdwise (Moira); her grandsons, Niall McFadyen (Karla), Colin McFadyen (Jaime), Ross Birdwise (Elysia), Scott Birdwise, and Robyn Lecocq; and granddaughter Cari Lecocq; great-grandsons, Callum McFadyen and Tobias Lecocq. She is also survived by her sister Teash Ward, sister-in-law Isa Taylor and many loving nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Mom was predeceased by her parents, George and Jessie Chaloner (Bean); her sisters and brothers-in-law, Muriel Chaloner, Betty Horrox, Marion and Brian Whittle, Harry Horrox and Dick Ward. She was also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Angus and Isabella Birdwise (Miller); Chuck's sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie and Ed Yeadon, Mary and Warren Swan, Betty and John Boyd and Jack Taylor. Mom was born and raised in West Kildonan and was a longtime member of the West Kildonan Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The family enjoyed summers at their cottage in Whytewold and at Winnipeg Beach. Mom and Dad travelled to Great Britain, Europe, Hawaii and throughout Canada and the US. The family would like to thank The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for the wonderful and loving care given to Georgie throughout her stay. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Interment will be at a later date.
