Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES HERBERT WHITMAN September 27, 1929 - December 17, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Whitman, peacefully with his family by his side, at the age of 88. Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he met his future wife, Arlie, in high school. They married in 1953 and celebrated their 64th anniversary in August. His career with Goodyear Tire began in the Winnipeg warehouse and he worked his way up to Branch Manager in Vancouver by 1965. When he retired, Jim enjoyed cooking and taking care of his family while his wife was still working full time. He is survived by the love of his life, Arlie, and his daughters Donna and Judy who still reside on the West Coast. He was predeceased by his parents, and two older brothers Bill and Jack. He will be remembered lovingly by many relatives and friends. Jim contributed regularly to many charitable organizations including the Lung Association and Prostate Cancer Canada and, in lieu of flowers, a donation to one of these would be appreciated. There has been no service by request.
