KAREN ANNE EDWARDS July 15, 1955 - December 26, 2017 The family is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Karen Edwards on December 26 while vacationing in Texas. Karen leaves to mourn her cherished daughters, Jennifer and Karlynne (Geoff) and grandson Elliot, as well as her sister Cheryl (Terry), brother Grant (Irene) and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Karen will be forever missed by John, her partner and soulmate for over a quarter century and all of John's family whom she loved. Karen was predeceased by by her father Verne, mother Jean and sister Judy. Karen's zest for life and optimism was known by all who knew her. Her passion for gardening was freely shared with all the budding gardeners she mentored, as were her funky yard art and caring for her feathered friends. Though she left the day care profession to become an entrepreneur and restaurateur, Karen's love of tots and toddlers was never lost. She rarely missed a chance to stop and chat with a little one. Karen's love for her daughters was seamless, never broken. Sometimes the seas were stormy but, in time, they would all sail into a safe harbour with calm waters. She loved her Beach family and was always eager to volunteer for charitable events. Karen also loved her time serving as a school trustee with the Evergreen School Division. A celebration of Karen's life will be held at the Winnipeg Beach Legion from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on February 10, 2018.
