JOY LYNNE DOWHY (MACKAY) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Lynne Dowhy. Joy passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 20, 2018 after a brief, but fierce, battle with lung cancer. Joy is survived by her sons and their families - her son Judd Dowhy, his wife Jaime Dowhy, and their children, Georgia Dowhy and Nikolai Dowhy; her son Steve Dowhy, his wife Shawn Dowhy, and their children Jaxton Dowhy, Ella Dowhy, Sophie Dowhy, and Talie Dowhy; and her brother Darrell MacKay, and sister-in-law Lorane MacKay. She also leaves to mourn numerous friends and extended family, including two nieces and one nephew. Joy was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Dowhy in 2008, her mother Josephine MacKay in 2010, and her father Les MacKay in 1990. Joy was born on January 6, 1946 in Crystal City, Manitoba and as a young girl, her family lived for a time in Bruce Station, Ontario, but she spent the majority of her life in Winnipeg, living in St. Vital. In accordance with Joy's wishes, there will be no service. A private interment will take place at a later date.
