Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOU DUCHARME Passed on to join his beloved wife Audrey on January 6, 2018. He was born in Manitoba, Canada on September 22, 1922. He is survived by his son Greg; daughter Wendy (John) and granddaughter Ashley (James) and their three children, Pasquale, Lucien and Massimo, and numerous nephews and nieces. After his service in The Canadian Army, he graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1950 with a Degree in Commerce and moved to the United States in 1956 and became a naturalized citizen in 1961. He spent the rest of his life in the Pacific Northwest; residing in the Wedgwood neighbourhood for 49 years. He was an Elder at the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church; and President of the Wedgwood Community Club in 1963. As a member of the 46th District, he avidly supported civil rights and Democratic causes. He retired from the American Cancer Society. Lou was the last of a large, close generation of "tribe and clan" both DuCharme and (Audrey) Walker. The family invites you to make memorials to the charity of your choice. "It was a Great Life on the planet Earth!"

All my life I have known "Uncle Lou" as a very special person and a dear friend to my Mom, Betty-Anne Porteous, along with Auntie Audrey. The first trip my Mom took my sister, Roberta, and I on was by train to BC and then by ferry to Seattle. Auntie Audrey was a roommate of Mom's and convinced her to marry my Dad! With Mom's passing I sent an annual Christmas card and a letter and Roberta and I were lucky enough to have a few visits with Uncle Lou when he came to Winnipeg. He was always interested in our lives and I will treasure the memories of our times together. Wendy and Greg, I am so sorry for your loss.
