LAURA BLORE (nee ROWDEN) Surrounded by her loving family, Laura Michelle Blore of Headingley, MB, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous battle with cervical cancer. Laura was taken too soon at the age of 40 years. Left to mourn Laura's passing are her partner of 18 years, Darren Lannoo; son Eryk Blore; daughter Isabella Lannoo; brothers, Chris Blore (Dan) and TJ Blore; sister Larissa Sararas; mother Sharon McMichael (Vern); father Jan Choma (Wendy); stepfather Tom Blore; grandparent Henryka Choma; lifelong friend Mary Hogan (Shawn); her loving pets Diablo, Charlie and Inu; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by gramma Jean; sister Natasha; brother Tyler; Papa Moe; and sister-in-law Chris. Laura graduated with a degree in broadcasting from Robertson College. She enjoyed a brief career in film production, before opening her store Books and Crannies. Later Laura excelled in her career as a new home painter with Doerksen Painting and Decorating. Her final occupation was working alongside her husband Darren helping to design and build props, furniture and games for her friends at Enigma Escapes. Some of Laura's favourite hobbies included fishing, going to the beach, camping, garage saling, bird watching, gardening, reading, antiquing, rock climbing, going to bingo, drawing, painting, sewing, puzzles, movies, "guilty pleasure" tv shows, dancing, music, hanging out with family and friends, and watching her daughter's softball games. Laura was a headstrong woman, who would not be afraid to tell you what was on her mind. She had a smile that would light up a room and warm your heart. Laura cared for and loved all of her family and friends. She was a loving mother and partner, beautiful daughter/granddaughter, caring sister, and a trustworthy friend. She is already sadly missed, but will forever be in our hearts. We love you Laura. A special thank you to the staff on the palliative care ward at the St. Boniface Hospital, your compassionate care was very much appreciated. A celebration of Laura's life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura's memory may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Very sorry to hear of Laura's struggle and passing. My thoughts and condolences to all of her family in this time of sadness.
