LOUIS WILLIAM MOHR Louis William Mohr, passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on February 3, 2018, surrounded by family. He is survived by his second wife Judith Carole (Todd), four children, Bill (Sylvia), Jennifer (Lewis), Amy (Patti) and Chris (Alan), stepson, Andrew Todd, and four grandchildren, Garrett Moss, Kathryn Moss, Nicole Mohr and Liam Mohr. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Margery Joan (Granich). He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Marguerite Mohr, Jan Mohr and Anne Beresford (Ken), and nephew, Peter Beresford. Lou was born December 19, 1931 in Edmonton to Louis Peter Mohr and Helen Margaret (nee Loughlin), growing up in Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. Lou attended business school at the University of Western Ontario. He first worked at Canada Packers in Winnipeg, and later moved the family to Montreal. There, he joined Great West Life (GWL) as a sales agent. He continued his career with GWL after returning to Winnipeg in 1971. He later opened his own insurance business on Corydon Avenue and was certified as a financial planner. Lou always found ways to be active and give back to his community. When his kids were young, he was very involved in the Crescentwood Community Centre, and served in many roles, including President. After Lou and Marge moved to Garson, Manitoba in 1992, Lou again became involved in the local community, serving on the library committee in Beausejour, and as Deputy Mayor for the Town of Garson. He enjoyed life in Garson. After Marge's passing, Lou found love again, and in 2000 he married Judy. Lou and Judy made each other laugh. They enjoyed their timeshare at Clear Lake and many other good times both in Garson, and after they returned to Winnipeg. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed attending Bomber games and watching sports, especially when his kids were playing. He had many faithful dogs and found joy in being around them. He was lucky to have good life long friends and was a truly loving and generous person. He was a wonderful husband and father and he will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Personal Care Home, where he has lived since August 2016 for their care and support to Lou and Judy, and Dr. Finlayson and the entire health care team at Seven Oaks Hospital (5U4) who provided such good care in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, at 45 Foster Street, on February 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Condolences: www.integritydeathcare.com/condolences
