I have so many fond memories of Dr Sehon and the many times he came over to visit my parents. He was a friend, mentor and all round wonderful person who will be sorrowfully missed. My condolences to Irene, Anthony and Caroline. - Posted by: Isaac Gesser (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2018
I joined the Department of Immunology when Dr. Sehon was a Senior Scholar, a few years before he became a Distinguished Professor Emeritus. While I only spoke with him occasionally, he was always kind, respectful and friendly. I often heard others speak of his contributions to immunology and to our Department in particular. The Department’s esteem for him was well reflected when we named a seminar room (The Alec Sehon Seminar Room) in his honour. As we approach the 50th anniversary of our Department, I know that we will once again reflect on Dr. Sehon’s impact on students, staff, faculty and immunology. It is the groundwork of pioneers which leads us to tasks ahead. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Sehon. - Posted by: Susan (work related) on: Feb 12, 2018
I worked with Dr. Sehon at the University of Manitoba from 1998 until his retirement. At that time he had already stepped down as Head of the Department of Immunology. And of course, his colleagues and I will always remember him as the founder of first separate Department of Immunology in Canada. He often would drop by the office to chat, and to give me little trinkets he had acquired on his trips to conferences. Irene - Although I never met you in person, I always enjoyed our phone conversations, covering many topics. Take care, Irene! Please let me know if there will be a memorial service. - Posted by: Karen Morrow (Co-worker) on: Feb 07, 2018
