MICHAEL VINCENT PASKEWITZ August 9, 1951 - February 4, 2018 Michael Vincent Paskewitz (Mike) passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2018 at the age of 66. Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Geraldine Paskewitz. Forever loved by siblings: Daria (Jim) McLean, Rita (Wayne) Hildahl, Greg (Jill) Paskewitz, Martin Paskewitz (Dianna), Paul (Terri) Paskewitz, Monica Peristerakis (John), Theresa (Dave) Heffler, Cecilia (John) Elder, Philip Paskewitz and Barbara (Don) McGillis; uncles and aunts, Paul (Marianne) Smith, Gail (Victor) Coyston, and Lynne (Dave) Emeny; nieces and nephews, Ryan and Patrick Gaborieau; Paul, Mark, Karen and Thomas Hildahl; Jayne, Susan, Laura, Annie Paskewitz and Sarah Parrott; Michael and Naomi Paskewitz; Terry and Julia Peristerakis; Luke, Max and Theo Heffler; Thomas, Melanie McGillis and Hailey March; and all of their partners, as well as great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Mike worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life. In his youth, he travelled the world, backpacking through Europe, the Middle East and into Asia. He loved nature and over the years explored many remote rivers and lakes in the pristine wilderness of Manitoba. Mike read broadly throughout his life and retained most of what he read, making him an interesting conversationalist on all things related to nature, geology, history and politics. Though a quiet man, Mike could be quite outspoken. He never hesitated to "tell it like it is". He was also an entertaining story-teller; his bear stories would send chills up your spine. The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life. Though gone from our lives, Mike will remain in our memories and in our hearts.
