PAUL GENEST July 1, 1935 - February 10, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle. Paul passed away peacefully on February 10, at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82, after a brief battle with cancer. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rogeanne (Gauvin) of 52 years; daughter Lianne Wiebe; his grandchildren, Kayla, Christine, Tristan and Taylor and great-grandson Luca and his son-in-laws, Brad and Heath. Paul was predeceased by his daughter Michelle in 2013 and his parents, Alfred and Eva Genest; brothers, Lucien, Eugene, Jerry and sisters, Marguerite, Evelyne and Leonne. He is also survived by his sisters, Aline, Therese and Claire. Paul was born on July 1, 1935 in Winnipeg. He spent his childhood in Otterburne, MB until he moved to Winnipeg where he raised his family and enjoyed a career in automobile painting and later painting signs at Claude Neon until he retired in 1999. Throughout his illness, Paul and his family were grateful for the care he received at the St. Boniface CancerCare and Concordia hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Saint Martyrs-Canadiens Parish, 298 Avenue Dussault, with reception to follow in the parish hall.
