Date of Passing: Feb 13, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEC (ALEXANDER) MACIEJKOW After a long, hard fought battle, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Alec Maciejkow at the age of 80 years on February 13, 2018 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Born on May 13, 1937 in Springfield, Manitoba to parents, John and Barbara, he was the youngest of 10 siblings. He will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Dianne (Klimchak); daughters, Cheryl and Lisa (Bryan), sons, Larry (Barb) and Eric (Christine); seven grandchildren, Sara (Dan), Jon (Markee), Brittany, Tyara (Aaron), Vanessa (Shawn), Alyssa and Taylor; and three great-grandchildren, Khloe, Ezekiel and Arianna. He is also survived by sister Jessie; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Dorothy, Bev (Myron) and Linda (Al) and many nieces and nephews. Alec was extremely kind-hearted and always had time to help family and friends whenever they needed. He took great joy and pride in watching all of his grandchildren grow up and celebrating their achievements. He would spend his spare time in the garden, fixing up the house and woodworking. Alec was a dedicated employee at Arne's Welding and was a fixture there for over 30 years. Sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service for their ongoing care and dedication. A celebration of Alec's life will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, on February 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. An opportunity to share your stories, reflections and memories of Alec will be given during the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.
