EILEEN ELSIE LAW January 15, 1938 - February 5, 2018 We are saddened to announce the passing of our sister, mother and nanny, Eileen, at St. Boniface Hospital, after a five year struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Eileen grew up in Transcona. She was the second of four daughters born to Christine (Kramble) and Harry Hewitson. After leaving high school, she began a long and varied career in the accounting field. Her final position was with Tryton Investments. Later in life she sat on the Manitoba Rentals Board for many years. On March 13, 1954 she married Allan Law. They raised three children, Harry, Kim and Kelly. Apart from six years spent in Churchill, they lived all of their life in Transcona. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, her husband Allan, her son-in-law Eric Irwin, and her brother-in-law Gerry Jourdain. She is survived by her three children, Harry (Donna), Kim and Kelly (Robin), grandchildren Jeneane and Robbie Law, Sean (Michelle), Ryan and Erica Irwin, her sisters Lorraine Jourdain, Wilma (Willy) Parasiuk, Virginia (Larry) Harrison and their families, and her special friend Dennis Jamieson. We would like to thank all her family (cousins and aunts), neighbours and friends who were there for her as her mobility deteriorated. We would like to extend a special thank you to Joan Warin who was with Eileen the morning of her passing. Following Eileen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Eileen was very blessed. She travelled, lived, loved, and forged life-long friendships. She had a heart of gold, opening her home to family and friends throughout her life. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Manitoba Lung Association.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I'm so glad I got to see my Auntie Een in December on a visit from Vancouver. Though clearly suffering, she welcomed me as always and we spoke and laughed about the good old days. Great backyard pool parties and barbecues, singing carols (and dirty rugby songs) around the table at Christmas, and those amazing Yorkshire Puddings. Eileen and her family are at the centre of my childhood memories of Transcona. She was like my other mom. I will miss you and always remember you with love. Rest In Peace Eileen. • Dear Harry, Kim, Kelly and families. We are so sad to hear of Aunty Eileen's passing. We are filled with thousands of good memories of her and Uncle Allan. They were like second family to us and our boys. They were so generous with their time and welcomed so many people to their home throughout their lives. Gilbert remembers her awesome, beautiful laugh. We are so glad she had such a long and loving life. God Bless her and Condolences to all of you from all of us - Posted by: Gilbert and Tina () on: Feb 17, 2018
