JOSH BOUTANG On February 14, 2018, in the arms of those who loved him most, Joshua Norice Boutang took his last breath. He leaves behind his parents, Donna and Leveret, sister Kailey and his little buddy (cat) Cokie, also grandmas, Winnie Glenn, Terry Boutang; aunts and uncles, Gerry, Chan, Colleen, Careen, Jack and Dudley and cousins, Sheldon, Courtney, Nick and Brett. He was predeceased by grandpas, Maurice Glenn, Norman Boutang, Walter Spicer and aunt Yvonne Glenn. Josh was born December 14, 1981, attended Victor H. L. Wyatt Elementary School and Glenlawn Collegiate. He enjoyed playing school sports and hockey and baseball at Glenlee Community Club. Josh pursued his love of carpentry at Red River College. He enjoyed working as a carpenter for six years where he met his best friend Derek Wilson. In 2006, while volunteering at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Josh was in a diving accident which left him quadriplegic. Josh worked hard to be the best he could be - he had a good attitude and a positive outlook. As the years went on his health deteriorated and he suffered with debilitating chronic pain. Frequent hospital stays took their toll on Josh and his family. Life was not easy. Through all of this Josh never stopped showing his love and appreciation to those around him. Josh will be remembered as a determined, thoughtful, polite, generous, nice guy. Josh's family wishes to thank the staff who worked for him since his accident, the friends who stuck by him and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. So many people have supported Josh and his family over the years and for that they are grateful. Please join us for a Gathering of Friends and Family to be held at Norberry-Glenlee Community Club, 26 Molgat Ave. on Sunday, February 25, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. If desired, donations can be made in Josh's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. "How lucky we are to have had something that makes saying good-bye so hard." A.A. Milne

Josh, you introduced me to the TV show East Enders when I looked after you during one of your hospital stays. Then I got hooked onto it (smile) and Coronation Street and I was thinking of you last time I watched it on TV. Thanks for being such a nice person. Not everyone can go through what you went through and still be such a great person afterwards. Deepest regards. - Posted by: Lynn (Hospital caregiver) on: Jul 15, 2020

You will be missed my friend. Had many good times before and after you were hurt. First bomber game I went with you made me understand why they called you "Spills" because not once but twice you spilled your drinks on the people in front of us. My buddy Josh, you were a brave warrior with a sweet heart. You taught me a lot in just two years. But, you left so fast. I remember your smile, your caring about me maybe not as much as I did. You will be always missed. May your soul rest in peace. See you buddy. My condolence to all your family, friends and workers. - Posted by: Abbas (support worker) on: Feb 17, 2018
