RONALD (RON) GRANT BROTHERS At the age of 82, after an extended illness, Ronald Grant Brothers passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Left to survive Ron are his loving wife of 59 years, Faye (Garland); his children Christopher (Cathy), Lisa (Gary), Wendy (Rick) and Darren (Lisa). He will also be missed by his adored grandchildren, Michael, Alison, Daniel, Derek, Cole (Karli) and Maia and great-grandchildren Marshall and June. Ron was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia on August 2, 1935, the second son of Clarence (Dub) Brothers and Evelyn Brothers (Hatfield). He had a long and successful career in the Air Force, joining at age 17 and serving over 39 years on bases across Canada and Europe finally settling in Winnipeg, MB where he retired. Besides his family, Ron's greatest joy in life was fishing, especially with his sons and son-in-law and later with his grandchildren. He loved to keep track of the number of fish caught to see who would beat the previous family record. Ron also enjoyed crosswords, hanging out with family, and long drives (both golfing and in the car). At Ron's request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made in Ron's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • My sincerest condolences to the family. Ron, I knew you somehow felt my presence when I called Faye several times asking about your health. We were roomies in Greenwood 53-54 and again in 2FWing France 54-56 (Greenwood in the 70s). You were the closest thing I had for a brother (no pun), as I never had a brother or sister.
