CLIFFORD CLARENCE COOK
Born: Jul 21, 1925
Date of Passing: Jan 22, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLIFFORD CLARENCE COOK With sadness we'd like to announce our dad and grandpa passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Park Manor Care Home. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Lilian and Violet; brother Gordon; wife Elsie, and grandson Trevor. Left to cherish his memory: daughter Donna Cook; grandsons Tyler Prevost, Shane Prevost, and nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Winnipeg on July 21, 1925, to William and Laura Cook, the youngest of four children. He was raised in Winnipeg and after school tried his hand at several jobs before starting his construction company. He built may homes in Winnipeg and Stony Mountain and owned several rental properties. He was always a very fair landlord. He married Mom in 1953 and were married until her passing in 1970 from cancer. They lived in St. James and raised one daughter. Dad loved his family so much and was very proud of his grandsons. As they were growing up he could be found babysitting, going to hockey games, playing cards and when they were older there were trips to Toronto and Vegas. We are all taught carpentry and painting skills at an early age. Dad had a great sense of humour, was well liked and always willing to help people out. Dad loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed trips to Shooting Star and Las Vegas. His biggest passion for 60 years was the race track, owning several horses over the years. We'd like to thank the nurses and aides of Park Manor and Comforts of Home for their special care. Always missed. Service to follow in May.

Sorry to hear of Uncle Clifford’s passing, some of my childhood memories where working for him, when he built the 2 houses on Cathcart Street, you will be in my prayers. - Posted by: Sonny Cook (Nephew) on: Mar 14, 2018

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I hadn't seen your dad for many years, just seem to lose touch. Your Dad and Mom used to come to our place to hunt. My brother Bob stayed at your Dad's place in about 1960, while he took a course at RRCC. Your Dad was a very generous man. Sorry to hear of his passing. I will surely attend the funeral. - Posted by: Bernice Johnson (nee Millar). Youngest daughter of James & Agnes Millar (Cliff's first cousin) on: Feb 27, 2018

Donna, so sorry to hear about Uncle Clifford. The times we spent together fishing, hunting and horse races were the best! Take care, glad to hear he had lived a long life. Rosemarie and Ken Cook - Posted by: Rosemarie and Ken Cook (nephew and neice) on: Feb 22, 2018
