  • Marilyn, Marnie, Les Jr and families. We have just returned from vacation and are saddened to hear about Les' passing. He was such a kind gentle man, friendly and full of fun. • I met Les in 1975, when I came on the WFD at 21 Stn. From the first moment I met him, I liked him. He was always happy and upbeat, he'd call me Kenny Barnyard and would laugh. I couldn't get mad he was to funny. My condolences to his family on their loss. Les will be missed. He was a fine man and a credit to the Fire Dept. The Bible says "to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord" Les is in good hand now. God Bless. - Posted by: ken barnett (brother firefighter) on: Feb 25, 2018

  • Great guy, fun guy! I was just talking about LES the other day to an ex-SPARTAN football player. When we won, LES (RED) was a valuable member of the very 1st SISLER HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL TEAM in 1963. We went to pick-up RED in a 1947 coupe on a street off MOUNTAIN AVE. The next morning (we knew where almost every player lived) at the time. The plan was to pick up LES & some other guys, to drive to other schools with the trophy, which we did. When one of us went to the door, RED'S mom came to the door & said RED "LES is going to school, not with you guys". We laughed & for awhile we would bug RED by saying things like if we were going to a dance, "hey RED are you coming with us or do you have to ask your mom. Unfortunately as time passes, you lose contact with many people. Sorry to the family. We lost a friend & team-mate. Whenever we saw LES, he always had a smile, as if he knew there was a joke coming, like maybe hey LES, how come you have 2 colors in your name? RED BROWN, you will be missed. - Posted by: RICHARD SUDSY SIDORCHUK (valuable member of the 1st. SISLER HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL team in 1963. LES ( RED )was a ) on: Feb 25, 2018
