WILLIAM HENRY OSTWALD April 11, 1944 - January 29, 2018 It is with great sadness that Bill's wife and children announce that Bill passed away in the loving care of his family due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia on January 29, 2018. Bill was born in Winnipeg and attended Silver Heights Collegiate, leaving Winnipeg in 1963 to play hockey. He last played for the Marquette Iron Rangers from 1965 until 1972. He made Marquette, Michigan, his home, marrying Tina in 1973. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. He was an assistant principal at Marquette Senior High School before becoming a middle school principal and adjunct professor at Northern Michigan University before his retirement in 2007. Bill was predeceased by his parents Henry (Ozzie) and Margaret Ostwald. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Tina (Kempka) of almost 45 years; his children Adam (Krysta) of Calgary, Shana (Michael) Draugelis of Philadelphia, and Scotti (Zachary) Oja of Marquette; sisters Donna Shaw of Vancouver and Janice (Patrick) Ross of Nanaimo; brothers Gary (Connie) of Denver and Robert (Anne) of Port Alberni; and life-long friend Al Schick of Winnipeg. Bill also leaves behind five grandchildren. A celebration and toast to Bill's life was held on Friday, February 2, with a beautiful service on Saturday, February 3.
