MARGARET MARY DANDENEAU (nee VANDERSTEEN) 1925 - 2018 Surrounded by her loving family, Margaret passed peacefully Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Fisher Branch Personal Care Home. Mom was born in Fisher Branch where she lived for the majority of her life. She was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Vandersteen, husband Gerard Dandeneau, son Edmond, daughters Mary and May, brothers Bert and Neil, great-grandson Tavis, and great-great-granddaughter Malaika. Mom will be lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law Shirley, children Anne (Denis), David (Huguette), Denis (Rose-Marie), Roland (Huguette), Therese (Bob), Noella (Roland), Emma (Tom), Diane (Les) and Nancy, sisters Lucy, Josephine, Mary, Elizabeth and Dorothy, brothers Johnny, Ben, William and Harvey, 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She loved flowers and grew beautiful gardens. She also loved music and taught her children to sing. Most important to Mom was her family. She devoted her life to her husband and children. Mom was most happy when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. We will always remember Mom putting everyone else first, and herself last. She was very strong in her faith, and deeply believed in the power of prayer. Mom was shy, but she enriched the lives of many people that got to know her well. Her beautiful smile brought love and joy to so many people. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the staff at the Fisher Personal Care Home (P.C.H.) who cared for her with respect, love and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Fisher P.C.H., Box 548, Fisher Branch, Manitoba R0C 0Z0.

  • I will always remember how your mom took the time to sit and "chat" with me, making me feel "included" in your family. Your parents had a gift for welcoming everybody into their home and touching the lives of so many people. I feel privileged to have journeyed, ever so briefly, with each and every one of you. Mes plus sinçères sympathies à tous !!! Charlie Roy - Posted by: Charles Roy (Family friend) on: Feb 27, 2018

  • I remember how wonderful the first Daneneau reunion was in their field. She took great pride in telling me that she had made the maple syrup herself. She was very resourceful and humble. - Posted by: Mona Korstanje (Grand neice) on: Feb 24, 2018
