JULIA (JUDY) WEATHERILL (nee FERENS) Mom passed away quietly in her sleep just one month short of her 95 birthday. Following her four older siblings (Kay, Steve, Ollie and Ed) and leaving Irene, Gene and Liz. She also leaves her three sons: Rick (Sheila), Ken (Lindsay) and Pat (Ellen); six grandchildren: John, Danielle, Marika, Lauren, Sean and Shannon; and seven great-grandchildren: Susanna, Cameron, Madison, Kenzie, Heidi, Tanner and Piper. A farm girl from Manitoba, Mom left the farm to help her auntie at Ashton House. She worked at The Bay before moving to Toronto during the Second World War where she proudly worked as a 'Bomb Girl' at a munitions factory. Following the war (and a stint at Lever Brothers), she met and married 'Bud' Weatherill, the love of her life for 70 years, (although Dad was only there for 45 of them). She never stopped working, between kids and moves, and Dad joining the RCAF and transfers, so that she was a model, a postmistress, store manager, store buyer and store clerk. But it was the Bud and Judy team that brought the greatest joy to her life. Together, they were up for anything. Either one would only have to say "Let's " and the other would be packing bags, in the car (later planes) and off. It didn't matter if they went to Australia or 100 kilometres from home (only to get snowed in for the weekend in Minot, ND), every day was an adventure. She loved it all. After Dad, she found comfort in her home, visits with her sisters and Jerry and Ruth, grandchildren and gardening. Every year, for the last decade, she would say "That's it, I'm not going to do any more gardening." But, of course, only three months ago, she was out there trimming up her slug. Goodbye Mom. We love you. Say 'Hi' to Dad. And enjoy your next great adventure together. Funeral service to be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at Chapel Lawn in Winnipeg.
