WILLIAM (BILL) SCOTT WATSON Passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Bill Watson in his 96th year, beloved husband of the late Sheila (nee Burke) Watson. Cherished father of Mary Jean Watson (Herman Robinson), Scott Watson and the late Peter Watson. Much loved grandfather of Rheanna (Michael) Evans and great-grandfather of Kayla Watson (Samuel O'Mahoney), Brittany (Shawn) Kononuk and Jacob Evans. Bill is also survived by his brothers Bob (Lucille) Watson, Bruce (the late Florence) Watson and Blake (Jane) Watson. Bill will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Michael (the late Gloria) Burke, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 25, 1922 and obtained his B.Sc. Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Manitoba in 1945. Bill's career took him to Montreal where he married Sheila and established their family and later returned to Winnipeg retiring to Ajax, Ontario. At that time he obtained a Masters of Theology from Regis College at the University of Toronto. Subsequent to Sheila's death Bill lived in Toronto and then moved to Barrie to be close to family. Bill's family appreciates the health care provided to their father in his later years. Bill also valued the spiritual community who deeply shared his faith. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, Ontario on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
