ARTHUR HERBERT WEISS August 29, 1922 - February 22, 2018 Archie Weiss passed away peacefully in the Emerson Personal Care Home, at the age of 95 years, on February 22, 2018. His heart was broken with the loss of his lifetime partner Jean. Archie will be sadly missed by daughters Bev (Gerry) and Marlene, grandchildren Burke (Betsy), Drew (Kelsey), Leigh (Annette) and Stephanie (Erik). Archie was predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill, Tom, Walter, Clarence, and sisters Elsie, Mabel, Annie, Ruth and Thelma Archie was born in Dominion City and married Jean on October 18, 1947. How fortunate the family was to help them celebrate 70 years of marriage. They farmed the family homestead in the Dominion City area. Not only did Archie farm but he also worked at a variety of occupations from crop insurance; elementary school caretaker and bus driver. In 1972 they moved to Winnipeg where they provided dedicated service to staff and residents of Lions Manor - stated to be the best years of their life. Upon retirement in 1985 to the Emerson community, they were involved in re-establishing the Emerson Golf Course; he enjoyed many hours of shooting pool with the guys and golfing. Archie and Jean together, gave of themselves to help their children, grandchildren, friends and neighbours. The family would like to acknowledge the Altona Hospital staff; Emerson Personal Care Home staff and the wonderful support from neighbours, relatives and community members. In keeping with Archie's wishes, a private interment of both him and Jean will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Archie may be made to a charity of your choice.
