Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA WINIFRED LOADER Vera passed away February 23, 2018 in Winnipeg. She is survived by daughter Debbie; son Greg (Carol); daughter Sharon (Rick); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Donella; and many other relatives throughout Canada. Vera was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1992; grandson Craig in 2012; son-in-law David in 2015; and eight siblings over the years. Vera grew up in Fleming, Saskatchewan. Upon graduation, she moved to Winnipeg to work as a comptometer operator at Canada Packers and banks. Frank and Vera met while working together in the accounting department at Canada Packers. In 1957, Vera and Frank purchased a new house on Rita Street in St. James. They enjoyed her home and neighbourhood until the 1990s. Vera's hobbies and interests included bowling; playing Bridge and other card games with Frank; attending dance parties with their friends at Manitoba Hydro functions and at The Legion; vacationing at Clear Lake, and during the last few years, spending time at Victoria Beach. She resided with her son and his family in Tuxedo for 10 years prior to moving to a care facility. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their professional care. There are three events planned to celebrate Vera's life. The immediate family residing and visiting in Winnipeg have gathered at Greg and Carol's cottage for a weekend of remembrance, fellowship and good food. The relatives and friends residing in Victoria and the coast will assemble at Debbie's home for a meal and reception, along with prayers and memories of Vera. Family and friends will be participating in a ceremony of interment near Clear Lake at Sharon's family plots.
