Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLES STAPPLETON November 18, 1930 - February 9, 2018 A Life Well Lived, A Life Well Remembered. Les Stappleton passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Friday, February 9, 2018. Born in Ashton-U-Lyne, England in 1930, Les immigrated to Canada with his wife and young son, David, in 1957, eager to start a new life in a country of opportunity. A proud Canadian since 1966, thoughts of his beloved England were never far from his heart. Les is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (Betty), brother Barry (Val), sister Rena, children, David (Frances), Barry (Michelle), Keith (Arlinda) and Heather (Ian), and his grandchildren, Tyler, Kaelyn, Erin, Amanda, and Ian. Thanks go out to the doctors and medical team at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, who cared for Les over the last several years, as well as Cory, at Brown Funeral Home in Kenora, for stepping in and helping in our time of need. Cremation has already taken place, and as he wished, no services will be held. If people so desire, donations can be made to Lake of the Woods Hospital Foundation in his name.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Les. I have many fond memories of our younger days at Pickerel Lake with Les and the whole Stappleton family. I am also thankful to him for my time at Universal Printers.
