ANNE WEIR (SASS) 1936 - 2018 Anne passed away February 24, 2018 at the age of 81. Anne was predeceased by her husband Dan Weir (2015), her parents Mike and Mary, and brother Marvin Sass. Anne is survived by her sons Dan (Maria) and Jerry, granddaughter Victoria, brother Bernie, sister-in-law Eva Ziemanski, and her nieces and nephews. Friend to Pat, Rose, Evelyn, Lucille, and many more. Born in Winnipegosis MB, she originally lived on the family farm before moving to town to work every day in the family general store. In her teens she looked forward to dances at Clear Lake and met the love of her life, Dan. Anne moved to Winnipeg at a young age and as a "people person" thrived as a telephone operator at Manitoba Telephone. After Dan returned from the Air Force, they were married and Anne left MTS to start a family. Anne later enjoyed work as a florist and in retail women's clothing. Anne was a very personable and loving woman. She enjoyed singing and being with people. Anne thoroughly enjoyed preparing creative floral arrangements and decorating for friends' weddings, baby showers, church functions, and just to brighten someone's day. Anne took great care and pride in her subtle landscaping of her home and getting Dan to build a backyard bridge or a rock garden for her. Anne very much enjoyed greeting people, saying hello and complimenting them for any reason she could find. In that spirit, in lieu of flowers or donations, Anne would have wanted that you reach out and greet or try to bring a smile to someone you meet this week. Our family wishes to thank the exceptional staff at Meadowood Manor for their level of care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A service for Anne has been planned.
