BILL KUCHERAN Sadly, after a long illness, Bill Kucheran, aged 65, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Born on February 17, 1953 in Lethbridge, AB, he was the third son of Bill and Vivian Kucheran. He met and married his lifelong love, Bev, on October 28, 1972. Bill had always wanted to be in business and when the opportunity arose, he and his little family made the big move to Winnipeg where they started Minute Muffler on Main Street in October, 1978. He enjoyed many years changing the automotive repair landscape with honesty and respect for his customers. Bill had a unique way of being able to connect with people from all walks of life. Bill and Bev moved to Medicine Hat in 2004 where he became a maintenance manager for the three McDonalds restaurants for nine years. When their first grandson was born, Bill and Bev decided to move back to Winnipeg to be close to their daughters and their growing families. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Wes. Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Melissa (Jeff), Sarah (Brian) and Jenny (Myles), grandchildren, Eoghan, Kuma and Grace, his sister Lianne and brother, Rick (Aniko), and many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Bill to the ALS Society.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I knew Billy when we were teenagers, he was always a very head strong guy and always did what he said he was going to do. We were close back then and remember him working at Minute Mufflers' first location. He moved away quite young and never turned back, made a good life for him and his family, he did come to Lethbridge a few times and did drop in to see me once, which I will never forget. I leave my condolences to Billy, Beverly and their family, God Speed Buddy. You will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Bob Bernie (Old friend) on: Mar 13, 2018

  • Bill was a great guy, and passionate about many things. I was fortunate enough to spend several years close to the family, and shared some life long memories with Bill. I will never forget when he took me (our first time alone together) to a body building competition at the playhouse theatre. I was not sure what to expect.....but was quickly put at ease, and he made sure we had an excellent time. I would like to think that maybe I had something to do with his renewed motorcycle interest after getting one myself, but I think that would have happened anyway. We talked about nutrition and exercise, after workouts at the shop gym he built for employees to use. We discussed at length, the ins and outs of home theatre speakers, and processors. Laser disc players, and surround sound. I know I definitely owe Bill for lighting my home electronics fire those many years ago. Take care my friend. You will be loved and missed, but never forgotten. Your love of life and family will live on in those you touched. I will remember the times we spent together with a smile, and cherish them for the rest of my life. - Posted by: Jeff (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2018

  • I knew Bill for many years as my brother Derek was his head mechanic at Main Street and Portage Avenue. Bill was an honest man in a notoriously dishonest business. He was a good man who will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made in his journey through life. Myself and my brothers offer our condolences to Bev, Melissa, Sarah, Jenny and their families. Rest in peace Bill. - Posted by: Garry Eekhoudt (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2018
