From growing up during the Second World War in Holland to adventuring out to start a new life in Canada, with her new groom in 1958, Mom faced every challenge with the stoicism and determination to make a better life for the family she loved so dearly. Upon arriving in Winnipeg, MB in May of 1958 Mom worked at the Nutty Club, was a sewing machine operator for TanJay, and then worked for many years with Superior Food Importers - right alongside her husband Ben. All of our lives will be affected deeply by the loss our loving mother, Oma, Tante Miep however none of us as much as her truly loyal, loving and whole heartedly dedicated husband Ben. I remember my Auntie Miep cooking me eggs while the news was on and letting me pick out my favourite keepsake she had in her collection of cute trinkets. She was a very strong woman with a wonderful smile and always took the time to visit and tour me around Winnipeg when I visited. Special memories I will have forever. You will be missed by so many, Stefanie Nuxoll. - Posted by: Stefanie (Nuxoll ) on: Mar 11, 2018

Yes Miep was my oldest sister. When I was growing up in Holland, I always looked so forward to her coming home from work in the big city. She had the pleasure of having to sleep with her little sister. She would come home later in the evening and cuddle close to me as her heating pad. Then Miep and Ben got married, I will always remember their wedding, It was beautiful. Miep was like a princess. Then off they went to Canada, and we soon followed. Miep and Ben were there always to help us find our way in a new country. It was not easy but we all made it through thick and thin. Miep was there to help with our Mom's last years. Not an easy responsibility. Miep always had the right answers when one was in doubt. We will miss her in all our later years. I no longer can call her for our old recipes. Goodbye dear sister, and may you see all family that have gone before us in heaven. - Posted by: Joann Nuxoll (Sister) on: Mar 10, 2018
