AASTA FRASER On March 6, 2018 Aasta Fraser, of Winnipeg, MB passed quietly after a short stay at Oakview Place Personal Care Home at the age of 78 years. Aasta is survived and missed by Alan, her husband of almost 60 years of marriage; children, Lenore (Darcy) Becker of Calgary AB, Scott (Ann) Fraser and Mark Fraser of Winnipeg; granddaughters, Ashley Fraser of Winnipeg and Sara MacKinnon of Calgary and many more extended family including many special cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Aasta Lindgren; father Arvid Lindgren; brother Ivan Lindgren and brother-in-law Robbie Fraser. Aasta was born in Kelvington, SK and following the early death of her mother was raised by her dad and extended family. She learned all things practical from them including carpentry and electrical skills which often came in handy for her projects at home. Aasta had an inquiring mind and loved learning, literature and reading and as a child was often in trouble because of it. She loved gardening and getting her hands dirty. She was creative with special talents for making things through sewing, decorating and cooking. Aasta was strong and determined, enjoyed a good glass of wine, good coffee and chocolate. She loved music, to laugh and to love and brag about her granddaughters. In compliance with Aasta's wishes there will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, an informal party to celebrate her life will take place in Winnipeg in the summer of 2018. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations in Aasta's memory may be made to the charity of your choice - she supported them all.
