PEARL ELEANORE ROSE EHRICH (nee POMEROY) Peacefully, on March 6, 2018, Pearl Ehrich passed away at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 90. She is survived by her loving family, sons, Mervin and Blake (Sandy); grandchildren, Kevin, Devon and Skye; four great-grandchildren; sister Myrtle; sister-in-law Helen, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Willis, in 2005; her parents; sisters, Mildred and Lucille; and brothers, Don and Leonard. Mom grew up in Carrot River, SK and attended nursing school in Yorkton, SK. She married Dad in 1952 and moved to Winnipeg to start a family. She often reminisced about working in the nursery with the preemies and with the children at the Shriners Hospital. Mom was an avid baker and her cookies, bread and buns were enjoyed by many. Mom was generous in sending care packages to family near and far. She would always send Mervin a birthday cake in the mail. Every summer she would pick dozens of pails of strawberries for herself and for others who couldn't get out to pick. Each fall she would can hundreds of pounds of tomatoes, and to this day, her boys prefer them over store bought. Mom enjoyed knitting and many of us have afghans, mitts and socks she lovingly created. The family would like to thank the staff at Kiwanis Metropolitan Courts for their kindness to Mom while she resided there, especially in the past month. A celebration of Pearl's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
