I had the pleasure of working with George during his final years at Grant Park and had the pleasure of attending his retirement dinner. I found George to be very professional and very passionate about his job as Social Studies department head. He always put the students first and was very popular with many of them. I remember attending Grant Park's 50th reunion and watching his many former students hounding him and talking about the memories they had in his class. George taught me a lot about students and teaching in general. I will never forget that. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Richard DOOLEY (co-worker) on: Jun 06, 2018

Mr. Kroeker was an excellent teacher and a fine person in the classroom. I would never miss his classes. I frequently think of him over several decades as to his classroom presence. We need more teachers like Mr. Kroeker. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Patrick Lennox (student) on: Mar 19, 2018

To the Kroeker family. I am so sorry for your loss. George was a fabulous teacher and friend. He lived with my grandparents in Wpg while he was going to Teachers College. I had him for a teacher at Grant Park and enjoyed every minute of it. George and I sat together at the Grant Park 50th Anniversary and I will treasure that. I will always remember that big smile and the big hugs. Your Dad will me missed and remembered by many. - Posted by: Sue Defoort (Golke) (Student and friend) on: Mar 18, 2018

I graduated from Grant Park High School in 1972. Mr. Kroeker was my Grade 12 history teacher. I vividly remember the class discussions and debates that he initiated, even with students who were less eager to engage than others. I was glad to see him at the 2009 reunion, where I made a point of thanking him for his contribution. He didn’t remember me, but I will not forget him. - Posted by: Justice Richard Elson (Former student) on: Mar 17, 2018

I had the pleasure of being a student in Mr. Kroeker’s history class for senior years at Grant Park High School. He gave me a passion for politics and current events. Several years ago I saw him eating lunch at Tavern In the Park, and I did not hesitate to let him know that he was one of my favourite teachers and how I looked forward to his lessons. So glad I had that opportunity. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be remembered fondly. - Posted by: Karen Johnson (Student from Grant Park) on: Mar 17, 2018
