Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA RUTH O'TOOLE LAFAVE (WILSON) July 9, 1938 - March 14, 2018 It is with deep sadness that our family informs you of the death of Ruth Lafave, at the age of 79; wife of Gregory Lafave, and mother of four sons: Daniel Lafave (wife Darlene and grandsons: Zachary and Austin); Paul (deceased from SIDS); Joseph Lafave; and Mark Lafave (wife Lynne and granddaughters: Taylor, Hailey and Caitlin). When Ruth was born, the first 13 months of her life she had the name of Patricia Ruth O'Toole given by her mother. This name changed to Wilson when she was adopted by David and Alma Wilson. Greg and Ruth met when she was vacationing in Hawaii with her girlfriends and happened to meet Greg, leading instantly to a deep love and the decision to enter into a lifelong marriage for 55 years. Ruth was a beautiful and loving woman who overcame many difficult childhood problems in her life and faced them with strength, dignity, determination, and pride. She was generous of heart and very happy to share supper with family and friends. She took pride in her cooking, a trait that carried on to her sons, who gave back to her with their deep love and respect. Ruth valued family and friends immensely. Her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends were her pride and joy. There are no words that can describe the gift of love and happiness they gave to her. Our dear Ruth will be deeply missed. A celebration of Ruth's life will take place on March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Parish, Calgary, AB. All are welcome to attend. Burial will take place in Winnipeg, MB at Green Acres in summer 2018. In lieu of flowers, Ruth asked that you donate to an association of one of her three conditions: Parkinson's disease, colon cancer, lung cancer.
