LAWRENCE ARTHUR GRABOWSKY Surrounded by his "girls", Lawrence moved on from this life on Friday, March 16, 2018, at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB, at the age of 89 years. On November 2, 1928 Lawrence was born in Brunkild, Manitoba. He met and married Joan Murray in 1950. Together they raised a family while farming. Lawrence and Joan relocated to Beausejour, Manitoba in 1973 where he was employed by the Department of Highways until his retirement. In retirement he and Joan enjoyed many years of travel. Lawrence was happy fishing from his boat on the Winnipeg River or singing on the tractor during field work. He found joy making others laugh, singing in church and community choirs and looking upon his family - an ever growing group, gathered around the dinner table. Lawrence leaves his children, Terry (Raymond), Michael (Gabriella), Patty (Lyle), Wendy (Byron) and Janet (Tim), 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister, Alice, and by numerous nieces and nephews to celebrate his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles (Charlie) and Helena (Lena), brothers, Alan and William (Willie), his wife, Joan, and by a son, Dennis. On Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., Lawrence's funeral service will be held in the Zion Lutheran Church, 403 - 1st Street North, Beausejour, Manitoba, with Pastor Bart Coleman, presider. A private family interment will be held in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. Our family would like to offer sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and volunteers of East Gate Lodge and Pastor Bart Coleman. Donations may be made to the East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to you all. My memories of Lawrence are mostly from Brunkild. Always smiling or laughing and kibitzing. Later memories are of that beautiful bass voice and his wonderful singing. You will miss him but will cherish the memories. God bless you and keep you all. • Sorry to hear of Uncle Lawrence’s passing. I can only think of the good times over the years, helping on the farm, fishing when I was young and driving the snowmobile in the winter. If I needed something he was sure to help. All our comfort and hugs, David & Ana - Posted by: David Grabowsky (Nephew ) on: Mar 21, 2018

  • My heartfelt condolences to Lawrence's children and grandchildren. You know how special he was to your family. Your mom and dad were always gracious and fun, visiting at the farm by us 'city folks' as Lawrence would tease, will be remembered. All of his extended family and friends will miss him. And his waiting family welcomed him to his well earned rest and peace. From cousin Gloria Cooper(Weidner). - Posted by: Gloria Cooper (Cousin) on: Mar 21, 2018

  • Good bye to a very special uncle. I have many years of fond, happy and fun memories of times spent out at the farm. Uncle Lawrence and Aunty Joan always made me feel so welcome and loved during those visits. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. - Posted by: Allana Kaiser (Niece ) on: Mar 20, 2018
