Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE GWENDOLYN HEWITT It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother, Marjorie Hewitt on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Predeceased by her husband Elvin Hewitt, and her daughter Joan Hinkson (Leslie), she leaves to mourn her passing her children: Janice Forte, Elvin Hewitt (Glenda Kowlessar), Dianne Hewitt (Peter Ferris), Dawn Paul (Joe), Derek Hewitt (Linda Pompana), and Dale Hewitt (Girma Mogess), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her only surviving sister Evelyn Arthur, and her many relatives and friends. Marjorie was born in Trinidad on January 18, 1918 and immigrated to Winnipeg with her family in 1970. She then worked for the University of Manitoba's Medical Library and the Rent Review Board until her retirement at 71. In her leisure time, she pursued her love for gardening, making homemade wine and playing the piano. Mom's home was a sanctuary to family, neighbours and visitors alike. She lived her life grounded in a deep sense of faith and had the unique ability to connect with others. Her love and light touched many. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 933 Summerside Avenue, Winnipeg MB, on Friday, March, 23 at 2:00 p.m.

A life well lived,... a Centenarian who "did it her way". A gigantic heart enfolded within a small frame. She will live on in the hearts, and memories of her family, friends, and, the countless number of people whose lives she has touched. My condolences to the Hewitt, and extended families. Marjorie Hewitt will forever remain alive in the mind and heart of my entire family that experienced her kindness and energy. We connected by chance in the early 1980s when we offered her a ride home. Since then her home was our home. We were treated like priced family on every occasion we visited. We tried out her excellent homemade wines, her savoury cuisine, were soothed by her music and listened as they related the accomplishments of her children, that she loved with a passion without exception. When she became godmother to my son it closed the circle of love for eternity. I am richer for having known you.
