Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSE MOREIRA PEREIRA July 20, 1926 - March 17, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josè Moreira Pereira, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 91 years of age. Josè was predeceased by his wife Maria and daughter Natalia. He is survived by his sons, Josè (Luisa) and Henri (Anabela); his five grandsons, Marco (Carol), Jason (Maria), Christopher (Kristyn), Brian (Haley) and Sean (Marina); his great-grandchildren, Jordan, Isabella, Daniel, Natalie and Leo. Also, Josè leaves his brothers, Joao and Manuel; his sister Emelia and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Santa Maria, Açores, Portugal, Josè was among many siblings. As the oldest male in the family, he bore many responsibilities to work and provide at a young age. After marrying Maria, they welcomed their children into the world and raised them as best as they could. On a cold day in October 1970, the family immigrated to Canada. He worked at the Health Sciences Centre and was very committed to his family, friends and Immaculate Conception Parish. Josè also found time to visit friends and family, including annual trips to Boston, Massachusetts to visit his mother and help care for her. His commitment to his family was very important to him. His sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons shared many amazing memories at family gatherings. The family would like to thank the staff at Middle Church Home for their attentiveness and care throughout the years. Josè had a terrific sense of humour, a passion for his faith and an energy for life that was recognizable by all. He was a simple man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N.
