ROBERT (BOB) CLARK
Date of Passing: Mar 15, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) CLARK On Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the age of 97, our much loved father passed away peacefully. Dad will be forever and deeply missed by his son, Tom (Linda); daughters, Cathy (Jim) and Gail (Grant); and his grandchildren, Ryan, Jesse and Grace. Bob was born and raised in Montreal, and at the age of 22, enlisted in the Army and fought in the Second World War. Upon returning to Canada in 1945, he began a 40-year career in the pharmaceutical industry. While working at Macy's drugstore, he met Rose McKinnon, who was his loving wife for the next 44 years until her passing (1990). In 1975 the family moved to Winnipeg, where he worked for National Drug until his retirement in 1985. Bob married Margaret Lute in 2003, and they enjoyed 13 years together until her passing in 2017. Bob enjoyed travelling, and we all have wonderful memories of family vacations or having him visit us when our family moved to different cities. Watching hockey and football, playing card games with his church group, or making people laugh at his jokes, were all things he loved. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Maranatha Evangelical Free Church, 910 Sturgeon Rd., on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to the caring staff at Deer Lodge Centre where Dad resided for the past three years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 0L3. I remember Bob Clark's skills as a poet during his time at St. Vital/Willowlake Baptist Church, seemingly having a poem at the ready for special occasions. He was well loved, and always a delight to be with. My condolences. - Posted by: Mark Doerksen (Former pastor) on: Mar 22, 2018
