Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE BERNICE LANGE (nee RITCHOT) It is with a heavy heart that sadly on March 20, 2018 we had to say goodbye to our mom. Born on September 8, 1939 to Alexandre and Clara Ritchot (nee Grouette), the youngest of five, she was predeceased by her parents, and brothers Joseph (in infancy), Don, Norm and Joe. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Emil, her children Chuck (Janet), Rhonda (Roger) and Harold (Tannis), her grandchildren TJ (Kristen), Chris (Carissa), Steven, Kerstyn and Cameron, and her great-grandchildren Scarlett, Savannah, Adeline and the baby she was looking forward to meeting in June. Mom lived in Transcona at the same address for the past 58 years and even though she often complained about the cold Winnipeg winters and threatened to move to Vancouver numerous times (every winter), she stayed, loved her house and welcomed many people into it over the years. Everyone in the neighbourhood knew Mom and knew exactly what time dinner was, as she would call out the front door and could be heard for blocks. Even though Mom wasn't known for her mastery in the kitchen, if you were preparing dinner and needed some tool or gadget, you could be sure she had it, and if not, she'd have it for the next time. Mom loved her family. She was very proud of all of us, which is evident by the hundreds of pictures displayed throughout the house. Even though Mom loved her children, she was not one to spare the rod and spoil the child. Even though she might have slowed down in her later years she would still give you a "what for" when she felt you needed it. Although some questioned her disciplinary methods, she instilled in each of us responsibility, accountability, respect for others and gratitude for what you have, as it was what you've earned through hard work and a work ethic which she was proud to have passed to her children and grandchildren. In her younger years she was always the life of the party and loved entertaining friends and family...man could she put on a party. We often remember Mom getting ready to go out to a soire, dressing as elegantly as a movie star and taking the time to "put on her face", she always looked beautiful. The one thing besides her family that she loved the most were her dogs, and some say they got treated better than anyone in the house. Mom loved camping with her friends of many years known as the circle gang because everywhere they went camping together they placed their campers in their own little circle and had a blast, but as time went on the gang got smaller and smaller. Now they meet every Thursday at the local mall to reminisce about younger days and to brag about their children. Sorry gang but Mom won't be able to make it anymore but I'm sure she will be looking in from time to time. Cremation has taken place. At Mom's request, there will be no service. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Although Yvonne was a little older than me (me being born last in our line of 6) I have fond memories of visiting all of them with my parents. Uncle Pete and Aunt Clara and their daughter Yvonne is who I remember the most. My condolences go out to all the family especially my FB cousin that we have yet to meet in person. - Posted by: Linda Ritchot Eilliams (1ST COUSIN) on: Mar 24, 2018
