WERNER JUCKNAT Erich Werner Jucknat left this world on March 28, 2018 at the age of 95 years. He passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. A woodworking artisan, who loved nature and art, loved by his family, he remains in our hearts and minds. Werner was born on January 28, 1923 in Friedland, East Prussia. In 1958, he immigrated to Winnipeg with his wife Marianne and his son Reinhard. He spent many happy years camping, fishing, working on his family home, and visiting with family and friends. He will be missed dearly by his wife of 68 years, Marianne, his son Reinhard Jucknat, daughter Lianne Belton and son-in-law Curt Belton, as well as grandchildren, Shanti Redpath, Robert and Caitlin Belton. He is also survived by his sister Anneliese Van Suydam of Enschede, Holland. We will miss our Sunday visits when he would share his life stories, and his inquiring mind would challenge us to think deeply about the world around us. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Werner's memory to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation. Werner's life will be celebrated at a private family function.
