ROSEMARIE JUZKIW (nee MCLAY) Born: February 21, 1942 Date of Passing: April 5, 2018 RoseMarie died unexpectedly on April 5, 2018 as the result of a sudden illness. She will be deeply missed by her husband Daniel, her daughter Nike, her son-in-law Elliott Brown and his family, and by her many friends and "family by choice." Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, the only child of John and Marie McLay (nee Copithorn), RoseMarie grew up in Moose Jaw and later in St. James, Manitoba. She met Dan when she was 16 years old on a blind double-date, as a favour to a friend. RoseMarie had a varied career in Winnipeg and Vancouver, working with Air Canada and as a legal secretary, and travelled extensively in her "spinster" years. After an unconventional 18-year courtship, RoseMarie and Dan were finally married in 1976. They settled in St. Andrews, and were joined by daughter Nike in 1981. RoseMarie devoted herself to her family, caring for her parents and parents-in-law through their illnesses in the 1980s and 1990s. She still found time for her love of theatre, music, and the arts - especially Neil Diamond - and was happiest in the kitchen without a recipe and sharing time with her lifelong friends, both in Manitoba and in the family's adopted "second home" in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The family is deeply grateful to the paramedics and medical professionals at Selkirk Regional Health Centre and Health Sciences Centre, especially Aly, all of whom treated RoseMarie with dignity and compassion in her last hours. A funeral service will be held at Little Britain United Church, 5879 Provincial Trunk Highway 9, Lockport, Manitoba, on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to consider a donation to Siloam Mission or another charity in RoseMarie's memory. This obituary may also be viewed on the Cropo Funeral Chapel website, cropo.com. "Cracklin' Rosie, get on board / we're gonna ride 'til there ain't no more to go."
