Condolences & Memories (17 entries)

  • My condolences to Fred's children and family. I worked with Fred at Stony Mountain Institution. We often talked about hunting, fishing and his kids. Fred talked about his kids often and loved them so much. I always thought of Fred as "one of the good guys". I miss our chats, his smile and his walk. Fred would always say hi and bye to everyone and as he would turn towards the door he would lift his hand and give us a wave. RIP Fred enjoy your hunting and fishing above us as you watch over us. God Bless Brother! - Posted by: James (Pepsi) Smidt (Friend/Co-Worker) on: Apr 18, 2018

  • My sad heart sits with yours. To Fred’s kids, and his family, I’m so sorry to hear of his death. I knew he was struggling to be well and it’s so hard to know that his own physical and emotional strength just wasn’t enough. He loved his children dearly and held his family so close. My family enjoyed Fred and the kids on many occasions, and though time has passed since those days, they are no less dear to us. Love and hugs to you all ❤️ - Posted by: Jeanne and Kevin Karlenzig and familyb (Friends ) on: Apr 17, 2018

  • I met Fred while working at SMI. He had a big smile and a big heart and was always there to help me out when I needed a favor. He was very kind and always asked about my family whenever we talked. Throughout his illness, he remained optimistic and committed to doing everything in his power to improve his health. He loved life, the outdoors, hard work, his old farm house, and his dog, but most of all Fred was a devoted father and so proud of his children. We will miss him a lot. - Posted by: Kathleen Helgason (friend) on: Apr 15, 2018
