GORDON G. MARSHALL February 16, 1925 - April 12, 2018 Gordon passed away at the healthy age of 93 in the home where he resided for the past 58 years. Predeceased in 2004 by his wife Janet, he is survived by his loving children, Barbara (Randy), Nancy (Robert) and Stephen (Marie-Josee); grandchildren, Jessica (Nick), Sean (Kara), Brodie, Christopher and Makena. A Second World War veteran and a University of Manitoba Mechanical Engineering graduate (1949), he earned his living as a practicing professional engineer. Gordon was an avid sports fan and throughout his life enjoyed participating in all kinds of sports. He was a regular with the Granite Curling Club Men's Masters League and it was only in recent years that Gord retired his membership at the Niakwa Golf Club, where he won many holes playing with his regular foursome and challenged the new "old guys" at the club. He loved his garden and modestly won bragging rights over and over again in the annual neighbourhood tomato growing championships. He happily shared his tasty harvest with neighbours who were valued and caring friends. Playing cribbage until his final days, Dad taught us the art of the game and challenged us as a friendly but fierce competitor. We learned to count the cards and so much more about living a good life from this quiet, humble and independent gentleman. He will remain forever in our hearts and minds. As per Gordon's request, there will be no public service. Flowers are gratefully declined and if wished, donations may be made in his name to the Melanoma Network of Canada.
