ELVIRA UMBACH (nee RASCHKE) November 26, 1934 - April 24, 2018 Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of Elvira Umbach on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the age of 83, after a brief illness. Loving wife for 62 years of Johann Heinrich (Heinz) Umbach, who predeceased her nine days earlier. Dearest mama of Werner (Margaret), Esther and Elke (Brian). Sweet Oma of Luther, Matthew and Robyn. Elvira was born in Schmiedeberg, Germany on November 26, 1934. She retired from West Park Manor, where she worked for many years. Elvira was an active member of the Mountain Andrews Seventh-Day Adventist Church and she died in Christ. We look forward to the great resurrection when we will, once again, be reunited. She was loved by all for her thoughtfulness and warm, generous heart. Special thanks to her neighbours and friends at Kildonan Green Apartments for making her last five years of life truly golden. As per her request, there will be no viewing. Elvira has been cremated and her final resting place will be beside her husband at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Red Deer County, AB. A celebration of her and Heinz's lives will be held in Winnipeg in May. Details to follow.
