FRANK WINNIK May 19, 1926 - March 28, 2018 On the evening of March 28, with his daughters by his side, Frank passed from this life into the waiting arms of his beloved wife. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Angela, and his brothers, Genchuk, Walter, Stephen, Thomas and Michael. Left to mourn his passing are daughters: Carol (Doug), Jean and Lori (John), nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dad was born May 19, 1926 in Ervenic, Czechoslovakia. As a young man in 1948, he immigrated to Canada. He settled in Winnipeg, where he met and married the love of his life Marjorie on July 3, 1954. Dad learned the auto body trade and worked for over 45 years in the business. Even after retirement he continued to help family and friends fix their vehicles. He was also quite the handyman and used the skills to build the family Cottage on Lake Winnipeg. Dad loved the outdoors and especially spending time with family and friends at the cottage. He also spent many happy hours fishing and hiking through the bush picking mushrooms and berries. Dad was most proud of his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who was generous with his knowledge, skills and time. He will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018.
