SHIRLEY ANN PIPER (nee KINASH) Following a lengthy illness, Shirley passed away peacefully at St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 76 years old. She is predeceased by her husband Edward in 2009, after 46 years of marriage. Shirley will be sadly missed by her son Raymond (Lynn); daughters, Cindy (Steve), Kimberley (Scott); grandchildren, Ryan (Evelyn), Lindsey (Dave), Sean (Gina), Justin (Kiera); great-grandchildren, Kingston, Hudson; brother Garry (Jean), and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Shirley was born January 16, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and fell in love with Edward George Piper. They were married on January 19, 1963 and moved to Lorette, Manitoba to raise their family. They later moved back to Winnipeg to further their dreams and finally retired in Kelowna, BC. Shirley loved and excelled at shuffleboard, she enjoyed watching curling, and volunteering at various charities. She was particularly fond of volunteering her time at the Royal Canadian Legion and relished being with her friends at the Legion. She was in involved in creating a number of events for the residents at Catherine Place. A drop in Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, 134 Marion Street, Winnipeg, MB. Lunch and refreshments will be served. Donations in lieu of flowers, can be made in memory of Shirley to CancerCare Manitoba.
