MYRTLE FRANCES TURNER October 24, 1927 - April 25, 2018 On the evening of April 25, 2018, heaven received a beautiful new angel, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Left behind to cherish her memories are Shirley (Wayne), Ken (Laurie); grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Ryan, Jennifer (Cody), Trevor; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bentley. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband John; her parents, William and Ena Batten; brothers, Gordon, Ralph and Norman; twin sisters, Audrey Halliday and Shirley. Mom was born in Montreal, happily growing up in the Westminster area, where she met and married Dad, the love of her life. In 1985 they followed us to Winnipeg. She was supportive in all family activities and cherished the time spent with her great-grandchildren. Whether it was spending time with family, friends, or the summers in Newfoundland, mom always embraced life and everyone she met along the way. It was through her faith that mom consistently tried to see the good in everyone. She lived her faith in a fashion that was exemplary for all to see. Her love for God was natural and part of who she was, a remarkable woman. God called your name so gently that only you could hear. No one heard the footsteps of the angel drawing near, softly from the shadows there came a gentle call, you closed your eyes, went to sleep and quietly left us all. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, special family friend Regan, and the many others for their compassion and care. A funeral service with be held at the Grace Community Church, 280 Caron Road, Headingley, MB R4H 1B4, on May 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Myrtle to Grace Community Church.
