WILLIAM SIDNEY (SID) ROSENBERG, M.D. Sid Rosenberg of Stonewall, born on January 15, 1925 in Winnipeg, to Rose and Joseph, passed away at age 92 one year ago on May 16, 2017 in Palm Desert, California. Sid served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War, stationed in Comox, BC. He graduated from the University of Manitoba as an MD in 1950. After practicing as a GP in Winnipeg, where he made numerous house calls, and worked at St. Boniface Hospital, he moved to Southern California in 1963, opening a private practice, and later specializing as an ER doctor until he retired in 1992. Sid was the beloved husband of Colleen, who tenderly cared for him for years with his COPD. He had two children with his first wife, Annette Kaplan: Gayle, who predeceased him, and son Sander Mark, in San Diego; he had two sisters in Winnipeg, Esther (predeceased), and Miriam -- who just passed away this year. Sid is also survived by his brother, Jack, on Vancouver Island. Like everything he did, Sid excelled at golf, which led to his fondness for the desert area. He is missed by his many patients whom he served so well, as well as for his quick, acerbic wit, which was in play to the very end.
