Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILLIA LUKIA (PRIESTLEY) ROSE (nee KUBARA) On Saturday, May 19, 2018 Emillia passed away, peacefully in her sleep, at Misericordia Health Centre at the age of 87 years. On August 8, 1930 Emilia was born in Winnipeg, MB. She was the youngest daughter of Michael Kubara and Anna Rose Paperniak. She was predeceased by her brothers, William, John and Michael; two sisters, Helen Dobrinsky and Olga Andronick; nephews, Larry Dobrinsky and Wayne Kubara, and niece Judy Szun. She is survived by her brother Edward R. Kubara; goddaughter Elaine Kubara; and also many nieces and nephews. Emillia was educated in Winnipeg where she grew up. She was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church. She started working at Eatons in 1947. They sent Emillia to New York to train at Helena Rubinstein School and Toronto to train under Estée Lauder for cosmetics and beautician. During her career she worked at both Eatons and The Bay. While employed at The Bay she sang in The Bay Christmas Choir. Emillia was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #141 for 60 years. In May 1975 she married Richard Rose. They had a wonderful honeymoon in Ireland and travelled the world together. In 1984 Richard's job was transferred to Edmonton where they lived until Richard passed away in 1997. Emilia returned to Winnipeg in 2004 and had resided in Garden City. In accordance with Emillia's wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Holy Family Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank home care, especially Emilita. Thanks also to her nephew Donald Kubara and dear lifelong friend Isabelle Coughlin for their love and support.
