DR. JOHN B. O'CONNOR It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Dr. John B. O'Connor, who passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at the Grace Hospital, on Monday, May 21, 2018, at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rita; and survived by his children, Yvonne (Fred), Deirdre (Padraig), John (Kaye), Maeve (John), Grainné (Matthew); ten dear grandchildren; sister Eileen Dobson, and his ever-faithful companion Bailey. Sean, as he was known to most, graduated from medical school in Dublin, Ireland and immigrated to Thompson 1969. He practiced medicine in Thompson, MB until 1988, then continued on to practice in England until his retirement, after which he returned to live in Winnipeg. Sean loved to travel with Rita and spend time with his family. We will miss his kind and gentle ways, sense of humour and sharp wit. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m, in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebuef Place, with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morrissey presiding. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask donations to be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2. Sad to hear of Dr. O’Connor's passing. My mom worked for him in the Professional Building in Thompson and he was very good to our family. He gave us our family dog. A King Charles cavalier spaniel named Tammy that we loved very much. Condolences to family and all that loved him. - Posted by: Donna Wilson (Patient in the 70’s from Thompson ) on: Jun 09, 2018
