FRANCES VOISEY 1920 - 2018 With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and "Little Gram" Frances Voisey on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew her, including her daughters and their families: Connie and Curtis Dancyt of Lac du Bonnet and their children, John (Kim), Cheri (Ben), Alex (Jeff); Grace Clark of Winnipeg and her children, Peter (Kitty), Wayne, Judy, Corrin (Sean); Pat and Real Oullette of Winnipeg and their children, Laird (Teresa), Dean (Donna), Trevor (Sheilagh), Francine (Mark), Rene (Robyn), Patty (Colin); son-in-law Mel Althouse of Prince George, BC and his son Dwayne (Sheri); daughter-in-law Donna Voisey of Dauphin, MB and her daughter Ariel (Anthony); Sonny's children, Clinton (Tu) and Candace of Seattle, WA; 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; special family friend Mel Macsymic of Neepawa, MB; also nieces, nephews and many friends. Mom's love of life, strong family values and faith carried her through many hardships in life. She lost both parents at a very young age and grew up with her two sisters, Terry and Margaret at a convent in St. Norbert. Upon graduation from Grade 12, she attended nursing college in The Pas, MB where she met and married her husband John. They spent many years in the north where he hunted and trapped furs throughout the winters. Gram was left alone with small children, Pat and Grace and had to keep the home fires burning. She helped deliver many babies as there were no doctors or hospitals. They finally moved to Churchill, MB where the rest of the family were born and raised. This was always her home even when she moved to Winnipeg and then Lac du Bonnet. Gram was very resourceful working many jobs to make ends meet. She sewed beautiful Eskimo parkas for many customers in Canada and the United States. She was proud to have been housekeeper for Peter Mansbridge while he worked in Churchill. Her last employment was for the Roman Catholic Mission in Churchill. Throughout her 97 years, Gram was always content and never complained. She was loved by all who knew her, and her smile and laughter would light up any room. She treasured her weekly visits with grandchildren, Isabelle, Jaedys and Jonathan, and the rest of the family. We'll all miss our Friday "Happy Hour"!!! We are grateful for the special care she received from the nurses and staff while at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. They soon became her angels and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John, sons, David, Cecil (Sonny) and Sam, infant daughter Ann, daughter Emilie, and her two sisters. Gram will be laid to rest beside her husband and two sons in Churchill on July 28, 2018.
