Date of Passing: May 27, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCEL REMILLARD With heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of our father Marcel Remillard, on May 27, 2018, at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 80 years old. He was predeceased by his mother Aurore, his father Alec, his brother Gerry, and his wife Lois. Marcel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Robert, grandsons, Braden and Brett, great-granddaughter Emmie, daughters, Shauna and Shannon, sisters, Jeanette and Lucille, sisters-in-law, Donna (Gerry) and Dawn, brother-in-law Bill (Lorraine), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Marcel was born in St. Boniface and had a close relationship with his two sisters and brother. In his teenage years, he met Lois Fox and they married in 1956. By the time Marcel was 30 years old, he had his three children. Marcel spent most of his career as a truck driver, culminating in owning his own business, Remi's Transfer where he contracted with MLCC to deliver alcohol to the stores. Throughout the years, Marcel and Lois were able to take a memorable trip to Barbados with their friends and take a couple of camper trips West to BC with friends and kids as well. In 1975, Marcel took Bob and the hockey team to Montreal by train. Marcel was able to retire in 2005 and take care of Lois in her final year. During his retirement, he was able to travel to Florida for a cruise to Nassau, visit Georgia and later Calgary. During his life long marriage to Lois, his generosity showed up in fostering children, taking in many pets and strays, as well as always being willing to help family members and friends alike. Throughout the years, he enjoyed coaching hockey, 10 pin bowling and darts at the Legion, which he did for many years. He attended many socials and particularly loved to jive dance. He also enjoyed many, many late nights spent playing cards with friends and socializing. A private graveside service for family only will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., 204-982-7550. The family service will be followed by a gathering at the Transcona Legion at 4:00 p.m., 117 Regent Avenue East for everyone who would like to come and pay their respects. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Riverview Health Centre, 3 East for their kindness and compassionate care on a daily basis. We know Dad enjoyed the humourous moments spent with the staff during this trying time. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Marcel Remillard to Prostate Cancer Canada. The ones we loved, who have now disappeared, stand as none where they once were, but they remain forever, everywhere we are, and this, we call remembering.

I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was one of the good guys. Ken and I had a lot of fun with your parents over the years when your Dad & I worked at A & H, and Ken and your parents bowled together.. Unfortunately, life gets in the road, and we never really had the chance to get together for a coffee and catch up. Now your Mom and Dad are together again. Blessings to You and Your Parents as they rest in God's hands. Peace be With You. - Posted by: Mona Gibbons (Friends.) on: Jun 03, 2018
